I'm back, ramblings of a Jet Setter

Gamestars Live 2004

So I'm back after a hectic day out with my m8 Sam, at Gamestars Live at the Excel Centre, London. After 2 years of attending Playstation Experience (which has mysteriously dissapeared this year) I wasnt sure if this multi format games show would be good enough to keep me there for more than 2 hours.

We took the tube & DLR to get there and there were huge queues. We bought our tickets and went to the Nokia stand outside which was a huge converted lorry rig or sumin! They gave loads of free stuff away which was really kool - T-shirts, blow up n-gage sticks, stickers, sweat bands! We played multiplayer Splinter Cell on the n-gage link up. I won by gettin most kills! :D

We went in and just glided through the exhibition picking up tonnes of free stuff! We got loads of free Activision goodies of Tony Hawks, Spiderman etc etc.
Halo 2 was there for the first time you can play it, but the queue was over 1 hour so we skipped! There were Halo figures around dressed in costume so I got photos with them.

There was a stand that had a Hummer car with female models around, so I had a picture with them all. The car is soooooooo cool!

The Atari stand were also giving out load of free stuff. I played a bit of Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 there which was a 3D game this time. This was really good. I had a go on Driver 3 aswell - this being so much better than the previous editions.

I played on The Sims 2 game stand. This is sooo cool. Just as addictive as the previous best selling series The Sims. Need for Speed Underground had cars on their stand - like cars out of the game - all modified!

On the Ubisoft stand, Playboy: The Mansion had a stand, or a huge bed! I had a photo taken with some playmates. Natalie Denning - UK Playmate of the Year and star of Poor Little Rich Girls was there, on stage, with a bloke from Ubisoft. When he asked the crowd, who wants a picture with Natalie and her autograph, I put my hand up straight away, then as no one had their hand up, I put my hand down slowly. But then he saw me and said "Don't be shy, you want your photo taken with Natalie, right?!" I nodded. He asked where I was from and then said "Natalie, do you like men from Sussex?" She nodded. He then said if you took the sex away from Sussex I'd just be a Su! He then told everyone who wanted a photo to line up and he said "Startin with the guy from Sussex!" So I got my photo taken with her!

I went to Vodafone and got my picture taken with the F1 Pit Girls. The photo was taken with the Sharp GX30 and sent to my email address.

We played loads of games like Madden 2005, a destruction derby type game, a stealth game, and we just walked around looking.

EA were taking photos and then putting you photo into a game shot - The Sims 2, Medal of Honour, Need For Speed. I got mine in The Sims 2 - it looked good!

The queues for Pro Evolution Soccer 4 were huge so we passed on that. At Eidos, Sam played a Lego Star Wars game which looked fun! I got some photos taken with the Eidos Babes!

I walked pass the Activision stands and they were giving out Spiderman the game 6ft Cut Out figures. So I got one, without thinking how I would get it home!

After this we left for home, lugging a box with a 6ft figure in, but I got it home and it was worth it. It was a really cool show, much better than Playstation expereience. I stayed for around 5 hours though!
