Busy yet strange few weeks!

My last blog was the first in a long time and I did promise to write a lot more regularly. Yeh rite, thats gonna happen with me - Mr Disorganised! Hehe!

So what has happened in the last few weeks? I haven't been working! But that is for 2 reasons - mainly leave and the second - I was grounded. This was because when I was tidying house for the family coming back from Spain, I slipped on the stairs and majorly sprained my ankle. It was horrible. It was the day before I was due to go to St Lucia with work, but that never happened!

At least I had my holiday to look forward to though. I had a week of resting my foot and flew off to Barcelona with Graham and Chris for 6 action packed nights. Yet as I write this, it seems I never went away. It was such a great holiday, we stayed in a hostel and met so many nice people, who I hope to see again. I managed to see FC Barcelona play at the Camp Nou - an unbelievable experience! The nightlife in BCN was amazing and had many dances with many Spanish chicas! I wish we could have stayed longer!

So after the post-holiday blues I drove up to Nottingham with Dom and met cousin Paul to watch Nottingham Forest vs Charlton. Was a fun day and an exciting match despite it finishing 0-0. We even visited the only UK Hooters - not a touch on the American ones! hehe!

So I am back to work this Friday, a quick trip to New York. Hopefully the ankle will hold up but I am really looking forward to getting back to work!

Til next time, check this vid out! (I made it!)

Here I go again on my own!

Well well well, guess who's back, back again, James is back, tell a friend!

Blogging had gone off the list of priorities in my world and I can't believe my last post on this blog was over a year ago about Charlton's last premiership match up in Liverpool. And how much has changed since then.

My good friend Marcus, who I was in the company of this weekend, happened to bring up the fact that he missed reading my randomness on this very web page. So, I thought I would forget about blogging on Myspaz.com (it's all about Facebook now, cos Myspaz is soooo old) and come back to my home - Blogger.com

I feel over the past year or so I have matured as a person. So much has changed in my life. Lets just break it down to a short summary. I left Carphone Warehouse in June 07 to go and work in a Summercamp in the USA. Now it was tough work, but thoroughly enjoyable and something I will always look back on. After camp, I went travelling with fellow Brit Simon and Aussie Dunstan. 2 weeks of car hiring, plane flying and bus getting enabled us to visit places including Niagara Falls, NYC, Washingston and Boston - where I was able to fulfill a boyhood dream of seeing WWE Monday Night Raw live!! I came back from the USA and went back to Carphone for a month until I got a job as a receptionist at a major UK media company.

How I regret that.

Not only is the commercial radio industry, in my opinion, fucked up (with mergers and networking etc etc), I didn't expect to pay £4000 a year to commute up to London with an apprehensive feeling every day on how my boss will treat me that day. I hoped the job will get me into the presenting and production sides of radio but, to be honest, the way I was treated was not worth it.

So one day, after a shouting match with the boss and him making a twat out of me in front of my fellow colleagues, I surfed the internet at jobs. The way I was feeling, I didn't give a toss if I wasn't allowed to view 'non-company' websites.

I applied for something I never thought I would ever have a chance to do.

This was an application for a job as cabin crew with Virgin Atlantic. To my surprise, an hour after sending the essay type application off, I had a reply inviting me for an interview, 2 days after my Birthday. Wouldn't it have been a lovely Birthday present to get the job eh...

So I had a great Birthday celebration with many pints of Guinness and a night in G-Town, but still with the thought of the interview in the back of my mind. The Monday came and my mind-set was that I would be using the interview as experience - how could I possibly get such a glamourous job?

I had never attended a group interview before, but I was myself throughout. You could tell the false people in attendance. If they didn't like me for who I was, then I guess I wasn't right for the job.

Virgin are very quick at getting back to you with the results of the interview, so I just wanted to get home.

Bugger me.

I had got the job. James has got the job as a flight attendant and will be travelling all over the world. Mum, Dad and myself were ecstatic. I shed a tear or two, my shit experience in my 9-5 Monday job was over. I couldn't wait to see the arsehole's face when I handed my notice in!

I only had to work 1 weeks notice, so I decided to hand it in when I got back from my Birthday celebrations in Brighton, with 2 of my best mates - Graham and Chris with his GF.

So I had moved on, the arse had lost a good employee but I had the last laugh.

I put my social life on hold for the 6 week training course - and what a great bunch of people I trained with. I met so many great people, 1 especially meant so much to me - but that is a different story, and now, after 3 months of flying I am still loving it. I wish I had done it sooner. I have met many more great people in my job.

The past year I have learnt who my real friends are and these are the people who still mean so much to me. My family helped me through the shit and I will be eternally grateful for that.

I hope my positive outlook on life that I currently have, lasts a long time.

Speak soon

Liverpool: An Amazing Weekend!

So I had been looking forward to the Final fixture in this season's Premier League, especially as it was Charlton's last one for at least a year. The match took place at Liverpool's home ground Anfield.

So myself, James and Paul made the journey from Euston on Saturday morning on Virgin Trains to Lime Street in Liverpool. Was a quick journey especially as we were drinking beer and playing cards!

We got in a taxi when we arrived to our hotel - Radisson SAS. We checked in, a gorgeous W.A.G type girl next to us, and went to our room. My god it was swish! We couldn't believe it lol!

We chilled in the room for a bit then went out to discover Liverpool and for some food. Had a really nice Pizza in Casa Italia restaurant. Then we wen't for a pint in the Cavern Club - home of the Beatles! After this we went to Spoons for a pint and then back to the Hotel to get ready to go out!

Before we went out, we had a pint in the Hotel bar and the fittest ever women were in their drinking! When they left, every male put their pint down and eyes just followed them out!

So after a drink we headed to Concert Square and a bar called The Office. It was a quality place to drink as there were so many bars, and it felt we were in a European City! After a few drinks at other Bars, we went to Baa Bar where we met bunch of Charlton fans who drink down The Oak on matchdays. The music was immense, so much sing-a-long stuff!

After a while in there, we got in a cab to Garlands. James had been recomended this club by one of his mates, and what a recommendation it was! So many fit women, dancing with me. James' famous saying (he made it in Garlands) is when he asked a really fit girl who I had danced with "can I take a photo!" He got rejected! HAHAHA

We went back to the hotel had a smoke then off 2 bed.

Next morning I was sooo hungover, but was excited about the day ahead. So I had a shower to wake me up, we checked out of the hotel and got in a cab to Anfield. When we got their we went to a greasy spoon and I had sausage and chips meal. Was tasty!

Then on to the drinking! We had a pint in Dodds Bar then met up with the Charlton lads at Arkles bar. After more drinks then, we made our way into the ground. I thought our atmosphere was amazing, also was great to see 'You'll Never Walk Alone' sung by the Liverpool fans!

Amazingly, we scored in 1minute30seconds! Was unbelievable. We held that lead for 62 minutes until they equalised, but Darren Bent scored 10 minutes later. Just as it looked as it we would win it, Liverpool got a penalty, and the game was drawn 2-2. And the season was over.

We left and took ages to find a taxi, eventually we got one, but he was an Everton fan. The first thing he did was shout at the window to another driver "Fuck off you wanker!". LOL! Then our 45 minute cab journey via the hotel (to collect luggage) was constantly about Everton! We closed our ears after 5 minutes lol.

So we got some munch and boarded the train home from Lime Street. Unfortunately for us we got delayed for 1 & 1/2 hours at Birmingham New Street because someone had killed themselves further up the line! DAMNIT! So we bought some beer and got even more merry! Finally we left and got into Euston over 1hr late. Virgin paid for taxis home which was good so I shared with this guy who was going to Croydon and then on to home! 172.20 it cost Virgin and I got home at around 02:00 am! I was shattered

But what a weekend!

Grow Course - What a laugh!

I have just got back from the Carphone Warehouse Grow training course and it was such a laugh!

So it started on Monday night, when I made the cross-London journey after seeing Charlton play to the hotel in Heathrow. Traffic was good and I did it in about 1 hour. Thank God I had a Sat Nav. But it took me to the wrong end of the road and I had to do a bit of searching. Eventually I found it, Hotel Ibis Heathrow, but it turned out to be the least of my worries!

I got to the reception desk to check it, and everything was going smoothly until they said nothing had been paid for and I would have to pay for the room! I was not happy. Then they called over this other guy, turned out he was Kevin from the grow course. I was due to be sharing a room with him. His mum had to fax through her card because he got their earlier so he paid for our room.

We went up to room 260, dumped our stuff and came back down for a hard earned drink in the bar! lol. As we were sitting enjoying a pint, we saw a guy turn up to reception who looked like he could be part of the course. So I went over and asked and he was. Alex, from Crawley. He was having the same problem and had no money, so eventually I paid for his room. So was a it of hassle, but we sorted it!. He was in 262. We had a couple rounds and headed up to bed at around 01:45!

We were up at 8 the next morning, and all went down for breakfast. A lovely selection, more than I expected. So I had a Full English which filled a hole! We got in my car and made the drive to CPW in Uxbridge, where the training was taking place. It took a little while and we popped into Sainsbury's on the way. We were listening to Scott Mills on Radio 1 on the way, and this segment couldn't stop making us laugh! It has this stupid music and then went "Can we make a German laugh". Both me and Alex were pissing ourselves! Then a stupid joke of "what do you call a bee that makes milk?! - A Boobee!" LOL

We parked up and went to the training room in the branch. To our amazement there were only two other students there - Steve from my area (503) and Laura from Kent (505). Our trainer was Al Ross. Was a top guy.

We had a couple of breaks and an hour long lunch, where The Hotel Lads (me, Kev and Alex) and Steve went to the pub. Had a really nice Monterry Chicken and Chips! Luckily CPW were paying up to £5 for our lunch and £15 for dinner.

The day finished at 1715 and 'The Hotel Lads" went back to the Ibis. It was a fun journey home as I was blasting my subs and music through the area of Heathrow lol! We got back to the rooms and did the homework set for us! We then decided to go find somehwere to eat! We were walking along the road and I decided to go into the Sheraton hotel pretending to be American! So I asked a concerge "Where an all you can eat Buffet is?!" Alex was tryin not to laugh, but the guy was being too nice! He directed us to the buses to Heathrow Airport. After this Alex decided I looked like Jack Osbourne! LOL.

We got to the Airport for free and got on the tube to central London. Alex just walked through the barrier without paying which was funny! We took the 21 stops Picadilly Line to Picadilly Circus. Alex managed to blag his way through the barriers cos he said he thought his ticket was valid and the guy told him to go buy a ticket but instead we just walked out the station! LOL!

London is so cool at night! We walked to Mr Wu's Chinese Buffet on Leicester Square. On our way we got given these free Corona vouchers for a club from some stunner! WOW! Wu's had a £4.95 all you can eat buffet. But even that CPW are paying for the dinner up to £15, we have to claim it back, they didn't have enough! It was perfectly edible and filled a gap!

We then went to Yates under Capital Radio HQ. Was quality inside as it had a DJ and all the lights were dimmed! We had a few pints and requested Alex Gaudino - Destination Calibria and Shakira & Beyonce - Beautiful Liar! They played it! Some mental Chinese man was dancing on the dancefloor like a goon and was drawing lots of attention! Was so funny! We danced for a bit, and went back for the tube @ Leicester Sq back to Heathrow!

Alex went infront to blag through the barriers and we lost him. So me and Kev sat on the platform and eventually Alex turned up! HAHA. He said he had to run away from the woman at the gate staring at him! Now we got on the train back to Heathrow, and some Germans got on! Now after mine and Alex's laughter earlier, this made out day! We kept on saying "Can we make a German laugh!" all the way home! hehe.

We got back to Heathrow, Alex escaped paying, and when I was using the toilet I shouted it really loud and Alex, who was waiting outside, said they just looked at him! Fucking funny.

We got on the 111 bus, for free, back to the hotel! Had another pint each! Hehe! Then the fun happened! Me and Alex accidentaly got off on the wrong level and Kev didn't hold the lift! So we had to wait. Alex then knicked the sign saying "1". Hehe I was pissing myself laughing! I decided I wanted something so we got in the lift and went up to every floor in it, trying to find me something. But to no success. We got back to our level and I found a sign saying "Lift ->". It was hanging from the ceiling, so I dangled from it and it fell off lol! Was so funny.

Then back to our room, we found a trolley and Alex pushed me into my room in it! Hehe! We were only tipsy but we were having so much fun! LOL! He then managed to lock himself out of his room so had to go down to reception! Was hilarious!

Bed time!

This morning, another nice breakfast, and then a check out! We were refunded for the first nite as CPW had sorted it out. They even had paid for the beers we had put on the account on the first night! LOL! Thank god! We had our final day training in Uxbridge! Was a fun day, was interesting! Had lunch at the same pub again, but this time I had a Chicken Tikka Curry. Weren't too great! But food is food!

We all passed our final test, and that was it. Course over! Was sad to say goodbye to the Hotel Lads, but we had such a laugh with some great memories!

Now home to apply to be a manager!

Hehe - what a great 2 days.

I'm From Barcelona - Koko 27th March 2007

What a gig!

Going to Koko is exciting for me, I had such a great time when I went with Jack and Matt to see The Holloways. This time I was going to see a band I have never heard of - I'm From Barcelona. Me, Jack, Joey and Nick all got the bus and then the train to London. A lovely McDonalds in Camden and then a couple pints and 3 After Eight shooters (sooo delicious!) meant our vocal chords were well lubricated to go into Koko.

The support actsa were pretty rubbish and we didn't really like them, but I'm From Barcelona were amazing! Such a variety. Me and Joey got separated from Jack and Nick, and we were going to get another drink, when Joey said to me "Jack's on Stage!". I was like "fuck off whatever!". And I turned around, fuck me, Jack is on stage infront of a couple hundred people playing the Kazoo with the rest of the band! lol! Legendary.

Me and Joey managed to get right to the front and rock with the band! After IFB finished, Adventure Kid joined the band on stage to Dj some chooons! I got given a couple of glowsticks by them and waved and frantically danced! LOL! hehe was so good! When they had finished the band came into the crowd! We go photos with the lead singer and some other bandmembers. They were really friendly!

What a great gig!

Wembley, Wembley

Well, I can't really describe my feelings! Myself, Josh and James went to Wembley yesterday to watch the first International match at the new Stadium. England U21's were playing Italy U21's.

We got the tube to Wembley Park Station as we knew to get the adrenaline really going, we had to walk down the infamous 'Wembley Way'. After getting off the train and to the top of the station, the view was incredible! Straight down the 'Way' was the gleaming image of the new Wembley Stadium. I was told to move on by Police because I was just staring at it!

I know I have seen it before (like when I went to CPW training) but the thought that within an hour, I would be inside was immense! SO, we walked around the stadium, lapping the atmosphere up, and then the moment came!

We were entering via Entrance P. We went through, were searched, and made our way to the upper tier. But it wasn't the usual way you would expect, we went up three long escalators! And we were up on the concourse. I queued for a programme. We had a beer, and we went to our seats. Block 137! It was amazing. I can't describe my feelings and thoughts! But the whole place is huggge! Unbelievably huge! We sat in our seats and waited for the game.

The teams came out, and when our national anthem was sung, I felt sooooo patriotic.

Then something amazing happened. Italy scored within 0:28 seconds! Unbelievable. Not only was I part of history to be in the stadium, but also seeing the fastest ever goal in the new stadium.

England equalised 10 minutes before half time with a wicked free kick from Bentley.

Half time was a nightmare. The bar staff didn't know what they were doing. So much so we missed two goals! Wayne Routledge scored just after the break to put us one infront, but almost immediately after, Italy scored the equaliser.

We were back in our seats. And saw Matt Derbyshire get our 3rd but scrappy goal. Everyone was ecstatic, but I didn't think we were going to win the match. I was proved write and their previous goalscorer got his third and the first hat trick at the new ground. When he was subbed off he got an ovation.

That was it, game over. A small presentation utilised the returning of the Royal Box which was good to see! We left via Wembley Way, but we couldn't be bothered to queue so went to Wembley Stadium station. I recommend it for next time as we got out and into London much quicker!

It was a great day and something I'll remember for a very long time!

Cardiff: My Birthday Weekend

So for my Birthday me, Jack and Chris went to Cardiff for some partying with Marcus and Kate. We left on Friday lunchtime, and after a 3 1/2 hour drive, we arrived in Newport (where Kate lives). We went into her branch of CPW and chatted for ages! Lol Chris was in his old little world again and was telling them about Lewis and Diesel! LOL even one of the Sales Guys rang Derek and chatted to him - calling him Dirk!

We left Kate and drove to Marcus' house! We got ready and headed into town. We went to The Prince of Wales (where we met Kate), The Square, Walkabout (where Jack got bombarded with women! and did nothing!) and finished in Liquid nightclub. We stayed very late. So many sexy women, including a group of cheerleaders! Gutted I couldn't be bothered to make a move!

I had a kebab, went back to Marcus'. In the morning we headed off home! Later that night we went into Guildford and met up with Joey and Graham. We also were Celebrating St Paddy's Day! I got my hat, and the excessive flirting with the Barmaid got me a discount on our drinks! lol. We boogied upstairs for a bit which was uber fun! I was also flirting with a 25 year old but unfortunately she left for Flares after asking me to dance - I was gutted!

Me and Graham had to get the bus back to Milford as the trains were replaced by buses. Was quite a funny journey as there was just a load of pissheads on the bus lol! We got back, played some 360 and went to bed.

On Sunday (3rd day drinking) I saw Charlton beat Newcastle 2 - 0! Amazing

What a wicked weekend!

So in around 20 minutes, I'll be 19! I'm getting old! hehe.

My sis went to the Godalming College open evening tonight and my Documentary was on the main projector! That is cool! Even a teacher who didn't even teach me was talking to my sister about how good it was and how hard I worked!

Someone in the year below said the documentary was shown to their class as an example!

Cool! Dead chuffed!

So heres to me being 19

The Holloways - what a night

Valentines Night - what a load of commercial bullshit!!

So myself, Jack Ross and Matt Gould made the journey to Koko in Camden to see The Holloways and support bands The Wombats, The Dykeenies and 1990's.

It was a great venue, the support bands were great, the ladies were sexy as, and when The Holloways came on a massive Mosh Pit started! Was sooo much fun! I nearly lost my glasses 3 times and my phone a couple, beer was thrown everywhere, but boy was it fun!

At the end, the guitarist from The Holloways jumped into the crowd, right by me! I also had a bottle of their water thrown to me.

Jack made me laugh, he was chatting to this fit american gal, her mate said to him "give her your number" but he didn't. FOOL!

What a wicked night!
